Perfectly Imperfect

I had a dream about candles and bees -
this is how it transpired....

Perfectly Imperfect Hand Poured Beeswax Candles

Lets embrace imperfections.  Real raw beauty lives where perfection does not.

~ like sun spots and freckles showing years of adventure on our skin ~ laugh lines that map a picture of joy and happiness across our faces ~ thinned material and ragged edges of our favorite tee ~ crooked branches with knots and bumps that make for the most beautiful trees lending to stunning cuts of wood ~ tears and sorrow that lead to hugs and sweet kisses.

We appreciate all the messy, difficult, sad, jagged, uneven, seemingly less than moments and details.  To us, they create the unique, the beautiful, the dreamy, the magical and most wondrous creations and moments that make this life what it is ~

Beautiful and Perfectly Imperfect.

BEE Well, xo
A note from Bethany (Queen bee and candle maker) ~

Perfection is overrated in my opinion. What does that word even mean really? What is considered perfect is unique to the individual. I pour these candles one at a time. They are not perfect like a factory pour would be by any means, and that's totally what I dig about them. The wax may not always sit next to the glass jar perfectly no matter how I heat the jars and the wax or check temperature, there may be the occasional air bubble or two, or even a small crack in the wax - but does this make them less capable of burning just as bright? Or something to enjoy? Not at all.

I use to be a perfectionist...I'm so over that shit. That doesn't mean I don't take pride in what I do, couldn't be farther from the truth actually, but I see beauty in the imperfections now - because that's where the stories and the magic really lives. The imperfections that some of the candles may have are simply the markings of their story and how they came to be really, the variations for each pour is unique. Just like our own stories are unique and certainly less than perfect. I embrace faults and imperfections, universe knows I have many.

They are what make Wood + Honey perfectly imperfect ~ and what I love about what I do.

Wood + Honey is a small family run business, I make products in my shop on the property where I live with my amazingly handsome man and our combined crew of 4 kiddos and our dog Bea.
Truly from our home to yours.

My Promise and Guarantee ~

Sometimes I miss the mark.  The pouring/cooling process could be off a bit, wax just doesn't set right... hey, like I said, I'm not perfect nor is the process of working with natural ingredients, things happen - but I do want to make it right when things go wrong.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your Wood + Honey product(s) PLEASE let me know.  I will replace your product for a new one or offer full credit towards a future purchase.  No questions asked.
