FAQ’s

Do Beeswax Candles burn hotter than regular candles?

Yes, beeswax has a high melting point of approximately 149* F.  Because beeswax has a higher melting point than other waxes, it emits the brightest and warmest flame.  Did you know it emits light that is similar to the light spectrum of the sun?  How cool is that!?  Because it is so dense, it burns slower, therefore creating candles that last longer than other waxes found on the market today.

How long does it take to receive products I order?

Generally speaking products are shipped within 5-7 days of the order being placed.  I'm a single mom of 3 teenagers, so life can be hectic at times.  If there is ever a chance that I will need to go past that window of 5-7 days I will reach out to you personally to let you know.

Are all of your products considered Organic?

We are as close to “organic” as possible.  It’s a tricky word to use these days.  Full transparency is key for me and so I won’t declare being something I am technically not.  From the dried herbs, to oils, to butters and bases used, about 95% of all ingredients I use are certified organic.  A simple rule of thumb is that if I cannot pronounce it or say it, I’m not using it.  Check out my “Never Fake - Just Real” Promise below….

ALL OF OUR PRODUCTS are toxin-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, gluten-free, skin-safe, and cruelty-free (Leaping Bunny compliant)

What is your return policy?

Returns are always welcome should the product not perform to the highest standards within 30 days of purchase.  For example, if you have purchased a candle that seems to be tunneling or the wick isn’t staying lit, by all means let me know and I will replace it for you with no questions asked.  Working with natural ingredients, sometimes this stuff happens or there's a wick that just isn’t cooperating.  I am always happy to make it right.  I stand by my products and I am a recovering perfectionist, so if you're not pleased, neither am I.

What if I’m allergic to Honey? Can I still use your products?

If you are allergic to honey, my only advice is to ask your doctor.  I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.  Where there is no honey, in any of my products, we generally recommend to avoid using our products if you have an allergy to honey.  Honey and beeswax are produced by bees and therefore may contain bee particles, or contain bee saliva and other related substances.  Our general advice would be to avoid all together.

What is your “Never Fake-Just Real” Promise?

This is essentially my mission statement regarding my “Honey, BEE Well” body products and it goes a little something like this:

At Wood + Honey I am keepin' it real, ALWAYS.  Which is why I use ONLY non-toxic, holistic, non-GMO and/or sustainably sourced ingredients in the "Honey, BEE well" products.

It’s important to me to be able to pronounce the names of all the ingredients that go into these products as well.

I use NO artificial preservatives either, which is why some of these products have a shorter shelf life.  If Mother Nature didn't make it, I'm not using it.

This is what’s important to me and it's all I will ever offer to you.

I’m interested in getting your products wholesale? Where do I start?

Please visit the link HERE to take you to our wholesale page where you’ll find all the information you need to purchase Wood + Honey Products at wholesale pricing.

Do your products go bad or expire?

Candles will last you a very long time, no expiration date there.  No expiration date on wax melts or room sprays either.

I do not use any preservatives for my “Honey, BEE Well” Body Products - so typically speaking, products have a shelf life of about 1 year.  But I have a sunscreen I’ve been using for 2 and it still is working just fine.

Are your products safe for children?

All products are safe for children above the age of 2 to use with adult supervision of course.  They are for external use only and if there are any concerns, I highly recommend you consult with your child's pediatrician before using.

I’m allergic to bee stings? Can I still use your products?

If you are allergic to bee stings, my only advice is to ask your doctor.  Where there is no bee venom in any of my products, we generally recommend to avoid using our products if you have an allergy to bee stings.  Honey and beeswax are produced by bees and may contain bee particles, or contain bee saliva and other related substances.  Our general advice would be to avoid all together.

Where can I find your products locally?

How do I use my gift card?

Gift cards can be used on the website for any of our products.

How does the jar and lid return work if I don’t live close?

Unfortunately, we cannot pay for shipping to collect your recycled jars and lids, however we will happily accept them if you're willing to do so.

Do you offer unscented candles if I’m allergic to fragrances?

Absolutely!!!  All of our candle collections will have an unscented option for you to choose from.  Also our PURE line of ONLY PURE BEESWAX from Florida pillar candles is available as well.

What do you use to scent the candles?

Believe it or not, essential oils are not always the ideal oils for candles and with beeswax candles burning so hot, essential oils can actually become very toxic when burned.

Every single fragrance oil we offer is 100% phthalate free, paraben, and cruelty free and made without ANY ingredients found on California’s Proposition 65 list.

Our fragrances also avoid these 5 main hazard groups as well.

Carcinogens: These are materials known or thought to cause cancer.

Mutagens: Materials that change the DNA of a cell, harming the cell and causing diseases like cancer.

Reproductive toxins: Toxins that adversely affect reproductive organs and increase the risk of birth defects.

Organ toxins: These are toxins that can cause adverse effects or disease within specific bodily organs.

Acute toxins: Toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure. Generally, this would be accidental exposure like spillage or ingestion.

I’m so proud to be using this line of oils for our beeswax candles.  Nothing but the cleanest burn for you and yours.
